About Us

Illinois Portable Truck Inspection, Inc. was established in 1982 by David Sjo. The concept was formed in 1981 by David while he was repairing a permanent brake tester used by the State of Illinois. While the machine was down for repairs, several drivers sat for hours waiting for their trucks to be tested. That is when the idea was born that be should bring the test station to the trucking companies, saving them time and money. David solely built and designed the first mobile brake tester: the only electronic mobile brake tester certificate by U.S.D.O.T.
